I Examen Nacional Voluntario para la Revisión Voluntaria de Honduras 2017

A partir de septiembre de 2015, los ODM fueron reemplazados por la nueva Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, aprobada por 193 Estados Miembros de Naciones Unidas, tras un proceso consultivo mundial sin precedentes de más de tres años, iniciado con la conferencia Rio+20 (Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Desarrollo Sostenible), celebrada en Río de Janeiro en junio de 2012.

Bajo esta línea de pensamiento, en septiembre de 2015, el Presidente de Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, compareció en este mismo recinto, ante la Septuagésima Reunión de la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas para comprometerse y adoptar la tarea de realizar los esfuerzos posibles, acorde a nuestros recursos disponibles, para el alcance de los ODS, que más se adecuan a nuestra propia realidad.

El documento que hoy presentamos, como Examen Nacional para la Revisión Voluntaria, es el resultado de los distintos pasos o acciones que hemos venido realizando. Nuestros primeros esfuerzos se han enfocado en sentar las bases que nos permitan realizar una implementación exitosa de la Agenda Nacional de los ODS, entre los que destacan, la conformación de la institucionalidad para liderar, ordenar y acompañar los procesos; asimismo, se han realizado importantes jornadas de socialización, con el propósito de lograr el empoderamiento y, por tanto, el compromiso de la mayoría de los sectores de nuestra sociedad.

I Voluntary National Review for the Voluntary Review of Honduras 2017.

As of September 2015, the MDGs were replaced by the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by 193 Member States of the United Nations, after an unprecedented global consultative process of more than three years, initiated with the Rio+20 conference (United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development), held in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.

Under this line of thought, in September 2015, the President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, appeared in this same venue, before the Seventieth Session of the United Nations General Assembly to commit and adopt the task of making the possible efforts, according to our available resources, for the achievement of the SDGs, which best suit our own reality.

The document that we present today, as the National Review for the Voluntary Review, is the result of the different steps or actions that we have been carrying out. Our first efforts have focused on laying the foundations that will allow us to successfully implement the National Agenda of the SDGs, including the creation of the institutional framework to lead, organize and accompany the processes; likewise, important socialization sessions have been held, with the purpose of achieving the empowerment and, therefore, the commitment of most of the sectors of our society.
